Hollywood film and TV editor John Quinn visits Hester

Thank you to our special guest and Hester graduate John Quinn, editor for film and television, who visited with Hester students September 23rd.  John took time from his busy schedule to meet with all of our Hester students and to talk about just what it takes to be a successful film and television editor.  John brought along some samples of his work to show our students the process from raw film all the way through to the final product.  Our students had great questions and were excited to meet with someone who is “in the business”.
John lives in southern California and works with various Hollywood production companies such as the Syfy channel and Sony Pictures.  He has worked on projects from small documentaries to recent large budget TV shows like Chosen, season 3.   Thank you Mr. Quinn!

POWER Half Hour! Not your ordinary study session....

Power 1/2 Hour Updated Pics!

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for Hester students: Power Half Hour!  Each Thursday from 2:46-3:16 students and teachers will have an extended homeroom that they can use for academic activities.  During this time, students can engage in activities such as homework, projects, organizing assignments & lockers, catching up on missing work, checking their grades on PowerSchool, and more.  Although students will be working primarily in their homerooms, they may go to other teachers for extra academic assistance.  This assistance may be at the request of the teacher or the student.  We feel this is an outstanding opportunity for our students to get work done, get ahead, or get extra assistance.   Yesterday our students were introduced to the Power Half Hour and the whole school will be ready for the POWER next Thursday the 18th!
